Michelin stars make their appearance in Miami! In 2022, Miami has the most starred restaurants in the state of Florida, with 11 one-star restaurants and one two-star restaurant (the only one in the state).

In 2022, Miami has the most starred restaurants in the state of Florida, with 11 one-star restaurants and one two-star restaurant (the only one in the state). 

Here are this year's award winners : 

The surf club Restaurant*

Neighborhood: Surfside
Address: 9011 Collins Ave
Cuisine: American

Chef Thomas Keller's Surf Club restaurant is located in Miami's newly renovated iconic club at Surfside.
Surf Club's a la carte menu represents recognizable and classic food. Iconic dishes such as the True Ribeye, Beef Wellington, Roast Chicken for Two, Lobster Thermidor, Avocado Louie, Lemon Meringue Tart and Coconut Cake will illustrate the impeccable execution of the iconic continental menu. 

Boia De*

Neighborhood: Little Haiti
Address: 5205 NE 2nd Ave
Cuisine: New American

Boia De offers an American menu with Italian influences and a focus on natural wine. Located just north of the Design District, this restaurant seats only 24, reservations are required and go very quickly. An a la carte menu is available, there is plenty of pasta, like the tagliolini nero tossed with king crab and vin jaune that's served unexpectedly chilled.

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon**

Cuisine: French

The only two-starred restaurant in Florida, it features French cuisine from the late chef Joël Robuchon. L’Atelier, located in the design district, offers both tasting portions and large plates. The bread basket is a lovely opener, arriving in advance of such thrilling bites as a seared sea scallop with toasted spices. 

Le Jardinier*

Cuisine: French

Rooted in classic French technique, Chef Alain Verzeroli's menu is a study in vibrant tastes and clever compositions that deliver plenty of flavor without heaviness.|
Highlights include a wonderfully sweet summer gazpacho with avocado, tortellini with chanterelle mushrooms and hazelnuts, and pan-seared Hudson Valley foie gras with cherries.
A nice stretch of bar, an outdoor dining area like a real tropical garden in the heart of the Design District. 

Cote Miami*

Cuisine: Korean Steakhouse

The sister restaurant to the New York City location, this high-end Korean steakhouse is located in the Miami Design District. A la carte menu options are available, 
A unique and convivial atmosphere infusing a fine dining experience with world-class ingredients and service complemented with a show-stopping beverage program.

Hiden

Neighborhood: Wynwood

Cuisine: Japanese

Tucked away in the Stanton Hotel through Sushi Azabu’s dining room and behind a sliding door is this intimate temple to sushi. This place is hidden in the heart of Wynwood. The steel front door is not easy to find and only opens with an access code, beyond that door a rewarding experience awaits some lucky customers at this eight-seat counter.
Chef Shingo Akikuni sources most of his products from Japan; beautiful tuna slices, sweet botanical ebi and generous portions of uni are the highlights of a tasting menu that is never stuffy or overly reverent. 

The Den at Sushi Azabu*

Cuisine: Japanese

Offering a dedicated omakase restaurant inside Sushi Azabu in Miami Beach specializing in edomae style sushi. Menus begin at $220 per person.The first concept is a full service dining room with a stunning open kitchen. Beyond lies The Den, an exclusive hidden sushi counter helmed by Tokyo-trained chefs. Recent highlights have included thinly sliced octopus dotted with a sunny orange miso as well as soy-marinated akami nigiri.

Stubborn Seed*

Stubborn Seed is the result of pairing unrelenting passion with an unapologetic approach. At the helm is Bravo’s Top Chef Season 13’s Winner, Chef Jeremy Ford.
The aged cheddar and jalapeno biscuit, brushed with honey and served with bread and butter pickles, is proof that nothing is standard here. Yellowfin crudo sided by tangy Asian pear slices is topped with a creamy buttermilk sauce, while black grouper tartare is hit with just the right amount of spice.

Ariete

Neighborhood: Coconut Grove

Cuisine: New American

Ariete is Chef Michael Beltran’s first Michelin-starred restaurant. The menu merges French fine dining with Cuban influence. You’re coming here for the Canard a La Presse, that’s French for duck press. The Rohan Duck feeds two guests with limited quantities available every night. If they’re sold out on ducks for the night, go for their delicious six-course tasting menu.

El Cielo 

Neighborhood: Downtown

Cuisine: Latin American

If you’re looking for a full sensory dining experience stop by El Cielo in Brickell. Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos is broadening his guests’ minds and educating them on traditional Colombian cuisine through different avant-garde dining “moments”. The tableside "chocotherapy" to the "Tree of Life" bread service all feature dramatic presentations. A silken corn purée poured over garam masala-sprinkled popcorn and curds of queso fresco, as well as local, seared-to-crisp grouper plated with a salsa criolla-dressed tamal, have been tasting menu favorites.

Los Félix

At Los Félix, they honor the indigenous way by supporting Milpa farming, an ancestral tradition of cultivating the soil with awareness of the sacred connection between self and land. Accompanied by an extensive natural wine list and signature ‘cocteles’, Los Félix hits the note in every aspect of their service. It’s all about groovy vinyl vibes and a modern approach to honoring heirloom corn in every dish.
