South Beach

This route starts at 23rd Street and takes you to Government Cut. Here, you can run along the ocean and see the cruise boats pulling out of Port Miami. The distance is about 2.5 miles one way, and there are no major obstacles—except maybe the foot traffic when the beachgoers are packing up to go home.

Downtown Miami / Brickell

This approximately 7.2-mile route starts north of Maurice Ferré Park, next to the Pérez Art Museum. Follow the bay along Maurice Ferré Park, then join Bayfront Park and follow the Miami Riverwalk to the bridge at Brickell Avenue. Once you cross the bridge, you will take the River Walk Trail at Brickell Point until you reach Brickell Key Drive. Then, you can run along Brickell Key to return to Brickell Avenue.

The Underline

The Underline is a 10-mile linear park stretching from Brickell to South Miami. There are many spots along the way where you can relax, exercise in an outdoor gym, or take a rest. This trail is ideal for those seeking some shade because the route follows the Metro Rail path.

Key Biscayne

This 9-mile trail starts on the Rickenbacker Causeway and finishes in Crandon Park. The trail is Miami’s most popular running destination and is known for its “big bridge,” the William Powell Bridge, which serves as an observation deck (80 feet above sea level) for viewing the Miami skyline. The trail takes you past the Crandon Marina and continues to Crandon Park where, if you’re adventurous, you can continue your run surrounded by nature on one of the various trails. The park even has a fully restored mangrove habitat.

Oleta River State Park

Oleta River State Park is the ideal place to run surrounded by nature. It has a total of 15 miles of multi-use trails, and the area offers a wide variety of activities, from running and biking to paddling. Start your run at the Oleta River Outdoor Center and follow the different trails, some of which have a change in elevation, with some man-made dredging and a nice canopy of foliage.
