The best golf courses in Miami

Trump National Doral

This golf resort is home to four uniquely designed golf courses, including one of the sport’s most famous—the Blue Monster. With deep bunkers, long fairways, and challenging water hazards, its 18th hole was ranked among the Top 100 by Golf Magazine. The other three courses are the Red Tiger Course, which features fairways that wind around lakes situated throughout; the Golden Palm, with design elements similar to the iconic Blue Monster; and the Silver Fox, which is one of the most demanding courses in the country.

The Biltmore Golf

Originally designed in 1925 by legendary golf course architect Donald Ross, this 18-hole golf course has hosted a number of professional golfers and celebrities from Babe Ruth to Tiger Woods. The resort is also the world headquarters to the Jim McLean Golf School, the world’s premier golf academy.

La Gorce Country Club

This golf course is located in Miami Beach and has an interesting history. During World War II, the nearby Bayshore Golf Club was being used as a training area, so army personnel would instead play at La Gorce. Today, the course features lush tropical landscaping. Following a redesign in 1969 by Robert Trent Jones, the course has a reduced number of bunkers and an additional three water hazards as compared with the previous design.

Indian Creek Country Club

This golf course was designed by William S. Flynn in the 1930s and is located in the heart of Indian Creek between Bal Harbor and Miami Beach. With its 6,600 yards, this is one of the most exclusive golf clubs on one of the most exclusive islands.

Turnberry Golf Aventura

The resort is the home of two legendary 18-hole championship golf courses in Aventura redesigned by Raymond Floyd. The Soffer course is home to LPGA and PGA events and is dotted with creeks and lagoons, while the Miller course offers rolling fairways framed by mature ficus, banyan, and olive trees. The pink flamingos on Lake Julius will watch you play!

Riviera Country Club Coral Gables

Located in Coral Gables, Riviera Country Club is an 18-hole private golf course that opened in 1924. Designed by Donald Ross, Riviera Country Club measures 6,511 yards from the longest tees and features four sets of tees for different skill levels. In 2016, a $10M budget allowed for the renovation of the course, modernizing it for the convenience of the players while still retaining the spirit of the original layout from 1925.
