The Best Areas Around Miami

Coconut Grove

Located south of Downtown Miami and Brickell, Coconut Grove is an historic neighborhood with breathtaking scenery, a relaxed atmosphere, and easy access to Biscayne Bay. The area offers a wide array of activities for families and young people: many parks, a thriving nightlife, charming outdoor cafés, and beautiful boutiques. Coconut Grove is also home to the famous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Coral Gables

Next to Coconut Grove, Coral Gables contains a pleasant mixture of commercial and residential areas and offers plenty of activities: golf courses, the Venetian Pool, parks, and museums. This is also where you can find the Miracle Mile with its various shops and restaurants. Coral Gables attracts many students, thanks to its proximity to the University of Miami, and if you have young children, there are excellent private and public schools as well. About 30% of Coral Gables is dedicated to green space, providing its residents with a sense of serenity and easy access to nature.

Pinecrest

South of Coral Gables is Pinecrest, a great place to raise a family. Even though Pinecrest is south of Miami, it’s extremely livable—indeed, the average commute time to work is just under 30 minutes. The area also offers highly rated schools, parks, and a farmer’s market, and it’s close to Dadeland Mall and The Falls. Most of the residences here are houses in little gated communities.

Aventura

Home of the largest mall in Florida (Aventura Mall), the neighborhood of Aventura is highly appreciated by retirees and young parents, and residents enjoy the proximity to Downtown Miami, which is only 30 minutes away. Aventura has golf courses, parks, shops, and schools, and it’s also close to Florida International University and the beach. Aventura offers waterfront homes as well as condominiums.
