Chinese Village

One of the qualities that makes Coral Gables unique is its architecturally distinct villages inspired by different regions from around the world.  Perhaps the most unconventional, making it the most famous, is the Chinese Village.  Spanning just one block with 8 properties, the tiny village was designed by one man, Henry Killam Murphy, between 1923 and 1926.  Murphy was a scholar of oriental architecture, and his work can be found in areas around the world including China and Japan.  He brought his expertise to the nascent town of Coral Gables, building 8 colorful and intricate homes all tucked privately behind one continuous wall accented by each property's own detailed gate. 

Located a couple of blocks south of US-1, the Chinese Village is easily accessible and within minutes to South Miami, the Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, and even Brickell & Downtown Miami.
