Virginia Key

Virginia Key is a barrier island in Biscayne Bay, situated between Brickell and Key Biscayne and reached by the Rickenbacker Causeway. Much of the island is public parkland and marine-science campus, which gives it a stretch of waterfront open space a few minutes from downtown Miami.

Its landmarks include Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School, and Miami Marine Stadium. The former Miami Seaquarium site, closed since October 2025, is slated for redevelopment.
